Speaker 1:                           00:00                     Hey, good morning endurance Ryan May field here again and I hope you’re having a great week right now. And if you aren’t, hopefully this little time of slowing down today can help. Uh, I want to start today by telling you a story from my life. So several years ago I was living in India and I had an apartment at the time and we were hosting some guests for the weekend. Now these were not just your typical guests, it was a group of five very devout Hindu men. And one of them was Assad do kind of like a Hindu priest, right? The other four were his disciples and they were all really good musicians. So we jokingly called them SAGU and the boys, uh, well, so they arrived the first evening and we were ready, right? I had arranged for one of our neighbors to cook some good, like homemade real, you know, Indian meals for them during their stay.

Speaker 1:                           00:51                     So we sat down to enjoy the meal together and after we finished, I began to play the part of like, you know, the good host by gathering up their dirty dishes and taking them to the kitchen. But before I could say do, he stopped me and he didn’t allow me to clean up after them. Instead, each of the boys took their plate to the kitchen and they cleaned up after themselves. So I asked him, you know why I couldn’t serve them and sod? He said this to me, he said it is their duty. And this was really intriguing to me as part of their faith. They even considered something as menial as their dinner dishes. Right. And that stuck with me. And later I wrote down a phrase that has continued to be a mantra of mine ever since. Everything is worship. See in the Western Christian world, worship usually is just thought of as a short time on a Sunday before someone or where someone plays some songs for the church crowd to sing along to before someone else stands up and teaches out of the scriptures.

Men want to stop looking at porn, or overcoming porn or masturbation, because they know that looking at porn and mastrubating  can be a bad habit. They things like joining the no fap movement (nofap), covenant eyes, xxx church (xxxchurch), the freedom fight, pure desire, 7 pillars,  the conquer series, the endurance, 30 day challenge, fight the new drug, or a counselor. Sometimes these help guys with purity but sometimes it does not.

Speaker 1:                           01:54                     And now I’m not saying that that’s not worship, but what I am saying is that if that is all worship is, we’ve missed something huge. Everything is worship and Paul talks about this very thing in his letter to the followers of Jesus in Rome. Romans 12 verse one says, in view of God’s mercy, present your bodies as living sacrifices Holy and pleasing to God. He’s calling us to present our bodies as living sacrifices. A living body does things. A living body sleeps and eats and goes to work. A living body doesn’t just attend a church service. A living body takes care of kids and a spouse and pays bills and drives a car. A living body gets sick and loses jobs and hosts people in their home and to Paul. Worship is a constant, ongoing, never ceasing part of life. Everything we do is an act of worship.

Speaker 1:                           02:47                     It’s not a question of if we will worship presenting ourselves as living sacrifices. The question rather is what? We will worship as walking, talking, breathing sacrifices will worship something with everything that we do. The theologian deal. Moody once said that the problem with a living sacrifice is that it keeps crawling off of the altar. That’s you. And that’s me. And the good news is that, like we talked about last week, the ultimate sacrifice has already been given, which means that our obedience to this call from Paul has nothing to do with your eternal relationship with God. Jesus died, that’s done. But this call to present our bodies as living sacrifices to God is for our good. Jesus says that he came to give us an abundant life and a restful life, and there’s not a more abundant or restful life available then to lay it down on the alter. So that’s my challenge for you today, to present your bodies as living sacrifices and remember, everything is worship. Even doing dishes.

If any guy is interested in stopping porn or masturbating they should get some help.  They can look at the no fap movement ( nofap ), covenant eyes, xxx church (xxxchurch), the freedom fight, pure desire, 7 pillars,  the conquer series, and fight the new drug or try to see a counselor.
